Solar Aid for Ukraine

WHY IT IS NEEDED

Full-scale russian aggression causes the destruction of residential, communal, and critical infrastructure facilities every day in Ukraine. Since communities are forced to live in widespread power outages, it is crucial to provide backup power supply sources for hospitals. Therefore, installing solar power plants will help to survive constant attacks on energy facilities.

NGO Ecoclub and the Solar energy association of Ukraine are starting a project to install solar power plants for four Ukrainian hospitals (Myrhorod, Korosten, Voznesensk, Kodyma, Sumy). It will provide hospitals with electricity even if the supply is disconnected from the grid.

You can support Ukrainian hospitals in the following ways:

Hospitals and medical staff for whom we raise money.

RELEASED PROJECTS

In December 2022, Ecoclub installed a solar power plant (SPP) for a hospital in the city of Zviahel, in the Zhytomyr Oblast. Its capacity is 32.4 kW. Funds for the installation of the SPP – 840 thousand hryvnias (near 21 thousand EUR) – were received within the framework of the “Sustainability4Ukraine” campaign from CSR.Ukraine and Dobro.UA.

In the first month, SPP generated 800 kWh of energy. This amount is enough for a month of continuous operation of one machine for artificial ventilation of the lungs.

NGO ECOCLUB

Ecoclub is a non-governmental organization in Rivne that has been working for over 20 years to preserve the environment. The organization helps communities across the country to make the energy transition. This includes preparing action plans and single solutions and building the capacity of local authorities in the field of sustainable energy. Ecoclub and Voznesensk installed the country’s first solar power plant, which a communal enterprise owns.

SOLAR ENERGY ASSOCIATION OF UKRAINE

Solar energy association of Ukraine is the largest specialized association of the solar industry in Ukraine, which has been protecting the interests of participants in the “green” energy market for more than five years and promotes the development and popularization of solar energy in Ukraine. Association member companies have built over 3,500 MW of solar power plant capacity in Ukraine and the world. The association is an active member of the European solar association SolarPower Europe and the global solar association – Global Solar Council.

The daily member activities of the association contribute to the transition to clean and safe energy in Ukraine, which reduces the consequences of climate change, helps preserve the environment, prevents the depletion of the Earth’s natural resources, and substitutes for imported natural gas and oil.
